Fake Surveillance Camera with SensorReviewsi bought 4 of these 2 stopped working other 2 will probly stop soon im not happy althogh they look nice I needed this system just to make people think they are observed.... a neighbor daughter that use to fool around at the main entrance with her boyfriend... yeap. I don't wanted to be their little secret dark place. The camera works perfect... it has to be a little low because the sensor is not so sensible to movement. The other alarms are for the corners and work great too. Since that system installed, the two little lovers just looked for another place for their encounters. I first saw this product in the Spy Store, next to the Spy Museum in Washington DC - pity I hadn't bought one then and saved all the postage and packing to UK! But worth the cost. For a few pound/dollars you get a pretty authentic looking device, which whirrs and flashes its little red light as it scans from side to side after its motion detector has kicked in. Battery powered, so cost effective. Clearly only a minor deterrent to committed intruders, but a very useful one at that. I like it, because it has all the appearances of the real thing, at a fraction of the cost - and probably just as effective, although I cannot confirm that. But we have not been burgled yet. SECURITY SYSTEM SIGNS ~1 Sign & 3 Free Decals~ alarmReviewsThese are a good alternative to replacing the big name decals from you service provider. The original ones can be costly to replace and usually fade after a few years and if people (thieves) can't read them, the deterrent aspect of your security system is drastically reduced. You want those predators to go elsewhere as opposed to being surprised AFTER they break something trying to get in. Big poster is thin and it is made out of cheap material. small signs are very small..Need to come up with a real product similar to that of ADT supplies. If it weren't for the fact that I have a use for the sign indoors and not mounted anywhere, I would have returned this to the amazon vendor. The sign is flimsy and appears to have one giant sticker stuck to it rather than actually being printed directly on the sign. The free "decals" are actually stickers, and poor ones at that. The adhesive is on the rear side so for a criminal to be able to read the words, you would have to affix it to the OUTSIDE of a window. I have no idea if they truly will not fade, as I just bought them. But I intend to not find out and I will buy more of the blue colored Intermatic decals instead (which still have adhesive but at least it is on the correct side of the sticker) that Amazon just recently restocked. (Hopefully you won't beat me to them and buy them all out.) I already bought one pack of the blue Intermatic decals and (especially considering the low price) have been satisfied with those. I do not know if they will fade (as I just put those up), and they are really thin (so much so that if you rub the back of them too hard to smooth out bubbles, you'll actually wipe off the ink). The positives to the affordable Intermatic decals, however, is that the adhesive is on the correct side, and with a small logo on the bottom, it looks to me more legitimate than these red, generic, and poorly designed stickers. I no longer have the "Big Black Dog". I live in a rural area which has experienced a rash of break-ins. I purchased these and placed them on the front and back door. I used one on a garage window. I did not use the Large sign. But, I installed a motion camera on the second story. Is it working all the time? I won't tell..... a red light appears when it detects motion. My hope is intruders will just move on......................... Average Rating:![]() |

Alone With HerReviewsexcept.. i'm a little freaked right now... cuz i have a "doug" in my life........... and now i'm freakin looking everywhere being paranoid... hell. Other than that... great movie... This movie had me looking around the room, wondering where all the hidden mini-cams could be! ALONE WITH HER is a story about Amy, a beautiful, young woman (Ana Claudia Talancon) who is stalked by a seemingly mild-mannered man named Doug (Colin Hanks from 11:14). Doug utilizes the latest in highly effective, inexpensive surveillance equipment in order to see and hear his victim's every private moment. We are witnesses to the crimes that Doug commits, unable to warn Amy or her doomed friend (Jordana Spiro) in any way. AWH comes w/ an alternate ending that I actually liked as much as the bleak, more (sadly) realistic one. Now, pardon me while I do one last sweep of my house before bed... This is one those movies you watch and it makes you feel on edge.Even though this movie is a work fiction,it is rooted, unfortunately,in fact!If for no other reason when you watch this movie,it shows how easily it is to become the object of someones obsession and never know it.Also be sure to watch the alternate ending if you want to see a more Hollywood ending. Awhile ago, I had to watch a documentary based on the Crumb brothers, 3 artist/painter brothers with incredibly odd and bizarre personalities. One of them, Robert, responsible for the "keep on truckin'" and the comics of Fritz the Cat, is probably the most mature and seemingly intelligent of the 3 yet he's got abnormal views on racism and sexuality. The male character in this film is the same way: he's quite intelligent, he's friendly and there's nothing really off-putting about him...except you know, he's kind of crazy. Shot entirely using small cameras, we follow Doug (Colin Hanks), a lonely kid who one day sees Amy (Ana Claudia Talancon) in a park. He becomes smitten yet he goes about it the wrong way: buys small cameras that are to be hidden around her house such as her bathroom, living room and bedroom. He then slowly gets into her life: rents a movie that she just watches, music that's rather obscure. But just because a guy is nice doesn't mean a girl will like you and he becomes a bit jealous and isn't above doing anything wrong to "teach her a lesson". Now it's just a case of how long until Amy figures it out. There's a certain depraved quality when you're watching this movie, almost as if there's scenes that make you see things differently than what's on screen. Talancon for example, goes naked a couple times and normally this would be titilation but here, it's almost creepy and you almost hope you don't get turned on. But the big question is how believable does it feel and at times, depending on your view, this can stretch credibility. When he knows the specific movie and music she listens to and even conveniently calls when an accident happens, you kind of wonder how naive she is, or whether how trusting we all are. The film is by and large a 2 character study and luckily we have 2 actors that pull it off well. Which is surprising considering they're not really flashy roles, there's no "Oscar moment" but it's that sense of normalcy and realistic that makes it more plausible. Initially I was worried about Colin Hanks since he's always been a more meek, mouse-y kind of guy in movies but here he's inviting but with a degree of weirdness. Playing the attractive sex bomb, Talancon is sympathetic although at times you kind of wonder how completely trusting she is since most girls I know would've been like "how the hell did you know that movie?" It's the kind of film that's it best to watch once. There's not a lot to bring you back in; sure it's unique looking but it's also slightly hollow and wouldn't benefit from repeat viewings. Now let me go debug my room. ***1/2 Eric Nicholas` "Alone With Her" starts off with a rather alarming Department of Justice statement that every minute three new people become victims of stalkers, and that, thanks to modern technology, even your garden-variety voyeur, who used to be restricted to what he could see by aiming a pair of high-powered binoculars into the neighbor`s window, now has access to high-tech devices, once the sole province of the CIA and the FBI, to help him with his peeping. Through its innovative, you-are-there style, this low-budget, independent thriller really drives that message home. The stalker in this case is a young man named Doug, a techno-savvy misfit with extreme sociopathic tendencies, who through an elaborate network of hidden microphones and cameras, has found a way to keep the object of his obsession - a beautiful young woman named Amy - under surveillance literally 24 hours a day without her knowledge. Slowly but surely, he worms his way into her life, manipulating her emotions and earning her trust along the way. In form as well as in style, "Alone With Her" is a cross between "Peeping Tom" and "The Blair Witch Project," with the audience viewing the action entirely through the lenses of Doug's strategically placed cameras. This innovative technique effectively puts us in the shoes of the voyeuristic stalker, making us, in some strange way, complicit in his actions - and isn't all moviewatching, when you get right down to it, just another form of voyeurism? The real chill, of course, comes from the realization of just how easy modern technology has made it for our rights of personal space and privacy to be violated. If this movie doesn't turn you into a raving paranoiac, nothing will. "Alone With Her" is more than just a mere exercise in style, however. Thanks to compelling performances from Ana Claudia Talancon, Colin Hanks (who appears off-screen for most of the film) and Jordana Spiro, the movie emerges as an engrossing human drama as well, one that makes us empathize with the various characters whose story we are being compelled to watch. For beyond the threat posed by all the technical hardware, the film unnervingly points out the risk we all take by simply opening ourselves up to friendships and relationships with people we actually know very little about. Some people may find "Alone With Her" too low-keyed in its approach to be truly frightening. However, it is just that lack of sensationalism that makes it so convincing in its creepiness. It's true that the movie, like many thrillers, falls apart somewhat in its third act due to its budgetary constraints as well as a certain predictability in the plotting. Still, "Alone With Her" illustrates the truth of Marshall McLuhan's observation that "the medium is the message" better than any film of recent times. Average Rating:![]() |

CriminalsReviewsYou REALLY have to be fascinated by the criminal mind to get anything out of this video. When it is over, you do feel absolutely ill because of the subject. It is really a documentary noting many different types of criminals and crime severity. There is homemade video by criminals, police video from interrogations, descriptions by a narrorator, etc. They try to change up the style to keep your attention. It is DEFINITELY only valuable as a learning tool, not entertainment for a rainy evening at home with the wife. Vile, with no redeeming factors. The only good part of this movie was when a cop stated that one of the criminals should be a participant in a police shooting.Imagine sitting in your living room with several ignorant, egocentric thieves, rapists, prostitutes and murderers. Imagine watching their poorly made home movies with them. Imagine listening to self absorbed, graphic descriptions and rationales for their crimes. Imagine total disgust at the stupid excuses and total lack of remorse in their statements. Interspersed among this is faintly liberal poetry and scenes that try to convince the viewer that the problem is society and not the criminal. That makes this film criminal. This DVD might be Ok at a price of $10 or so, but at $22 it's a waste of money. It might be good for a kid to watch if he is starting to get involved in petty crime, or to convince you to carry a gun. The one thing that this film does is shatter any illusion that we live in a safe society. Average Rating:![]() |

This unusual documentary consists mostly of criminals talking openly and apparently honestly about their crimes. The film begins by showing hapless smalltime miscreants, such as a dimwitted woman who talks about how she had enough experience "prostituting" not to have gotten picked up in a police sting operation... |

Alarm Security Bar with Audio Alert, Model# 82-5054ReviewsThe idea is wonderful...the product is not. The base of the bar slides out and allows the door to open. I trusted Amazon to link themselves with reputable products. A great waste of time for me. I guess I could use the bar to hit a burglar over the head and for this purpose I rate it a 1 on a scale of 10 not 5. I ordered this item (Alarm Security Bar with Audio Alert, Model# 82-5054) as a gift for my daughter and when she installed the "electronic alarm with the gimmick barking dog, it does not work". I contacted the vendor and got a RA number, BUT I have to pay for the return shipping cost! When it is a supplier's problem the supplier should pay and not the customer. Amazon should not deal with suppliers that practice this kind of business. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. The item works as advertised and it gives you extra security. The audio alert for the siren is great and loud enough for everyone to hear easily but the dog barking is not worth anything. You can hardly hear the dog barking. I think this is one of the most important features because most people don't want to deal with dog. Thats the reason I rated at 4 starts. Alarm Security Bar with Audio Alert, Model# 82-5054 I ORDERED THIS PRODUCT AND COULD NOT GET THE ALARM TO GO OFF AT ALL.WHILE TRYING TO TEST IT THE BAR BENT AND THE ALARM STILL DIDN'T GO OFF NOT A GOOD PRODUCT.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT NO SECURITY AT ALL. it's a good tool because it will alarm you when someone wants to get in your property Average Rating:![]() |

Skooba Design Computer Bags Skooba Skin 1617ReviewsComes as advertised. Used on a 15.6 inch screen Toshiba laptop with a little "wiggle room". The Scooba R725-307 Skin is a wonderful protective layer for your computer; insert in your rolling briefcase, backpack, or use it alone as a computer case. It is sufficiently padded to protect your computer in a rolling bag over harsh, bumpy roads. I highly recommend this case. It took a lot longer to get this product compared to other purchases on Amazon, and although I like the handle flaps on the Skooba, I really wish it had a little more padding and some pockets. But it worked well for travel, especially at airport security. Still, I would have returned it for something else if I had had more time before travelling. You have to see and touch this to appreciate it. It's lightweight, I love the color and I can see it as a fashion accessory. Skooba R725-301 Skin 1617 (Black) Excellent design. I own a 17" laptop, but the dimensions of it was a bit out of the norm, and finding a case to fit it was demanding. This case was just what I was looking for, it fit my laptop like charm. Skooba / RoadWired 20" Advanced Protection System WrapReviewsThe RoadWired wraps are simply amazing. I've been using them for almost two years now. They make it easy to turn any backpack or messenger bag into a stealthy camera bag. I wrap up my cameras, lenses, microphones, hard drives, and PDA's before stashing them in a bag. Avoid the black wraps- the brighter colored wraps make it easier to find your stuff in dim light in the bottom of a bag. I purchased the large R.A.P.S. for my 13.3 widescreen laptop, and it's a pretty good fit. I'm guessing with anything larger, it would be a tight fit, or too small. I've seen a lot of reviews for the R.A.P.S. in photography forums, but I'm using it, as I've seen a few others do, as a laptop sleeve. Basically, nothing I searched for was just right, or the right proportions, for my laptop's size. This has the advantage that it doesn't have to be the exact specifications of the laptop -- a little spare material just adds to the protection. Basically, the outside of the R.A.P.S. is a quilted, felt-like material. The inside is a slick-metallic, anti-corrosion material designed to protect from humidity, etc. On each of the four corners is a small velcro triangle, so you can bundle your item however you want -- envelope style, more of a wraparound, etc. You should not consider this a replacement for an actual protective bag -- there's no padding to speak of. But it protects against contact and scratches with other items in my bag, and it's quick as anything to put on or remove. I also purchased the 12 inch R.A.P.S. for my power cord -- and that's a surprisingly tighter fit than I was expecting. It may just be that unfortunately, Sony does not go svelte with it's power adapters, and they're slightly larger than most, but the edges barely meet -- I'd buy a 14 (medium) R.A.P.S. if I were to do it again. Final note: the exterior material picks up cat hair like anything. So be warned, if you buy a black R.A.P.S. and own a white cat... the world will know it. Average Rating:![]() |

Skooba / RoadWired 16" Advanced Protection System WrapReviewsWorks great to protect my SLR, camera lens or flash unit in my handbag, backpack or suitcase. I've fallen in love with my various RoadWired wraps- I routinely wrap up my cameras, PDA's and portable hard drives. The bright colors make it easy to find in a crowded backpack. While the RoadWired wraps are no substitute for a properly-padded camera bag, let alone a Pelican Case, they do offer just enough protection for a quick, inconspicuous photo shoot. I can wrap up a $2,000 DSLR and stuff it in my messenger bag without advertising to everyone that I'm a professional photographer on assignment. I have used the medium and the large size wraps for several years now when going on trips and must say that this is one of the best products I have ever seen. While I love cases to protect my valuable electronics such as MP3 player, PDA, digital camera etc. they have the downside of not always fitting well. The wrap to the rescue! Whatever product I want to carry & protect, there is a wrap that works. One simply puts the product in the center of the unfolded wrap, and then folds over the corners envelope-style (see my uploaded images). Each corner has velcro that attaches securely to the outside of the wrap. That's it. It works like a padded blanket with added features such as protection from the elements. So - instead of buying a custom case for everything I own, I use wraps to carry my stuff securely. Cannot recommend this product highly enough! Average Rating:![]() |

ReCam Remote Monitoring SoftwareReviewsI purchased for about $90 some time ago and have worked up to 26 cameras being recorded 24/7. It uses relatively low resources, has lots of features, is a good value with no per-camera license fees, but lacks instructions to get the most out of it. As for camera compatibility, nearly any network camera has a string to grab the image (eg. http://camera/image.jpg) so compatibility isn't typically an issue, even when your camera isn't in the list. The "instruction manual" is lacking in correct information on how to set up the remote viewing, but with some thought of a missing step, I was able to get get it working just fine. I had to get the ip address of the machine the card is installed in first and foremost. Then, I typed that into ie and downloaded the applet and it works just fine. (from the start menu type "run". In the windows that opens, type ipconfig/all. Read down the list to find either the physical or wireless address. Type that into ie and follow the instructions. Not too hard, it took me longer to type all this review) The product description says it works "with any wired or wireless IP camera", however I have not been able to get it to work with the wireless security cameras I bought for my home so that I could monitor them from work via the internet. I cannot even get past the initial setup as the software doesn't recognize the cameras. This product may work well with a webcam or something similar but does not do what I need it for. I purchased this software from a recommendation of a friend. I wanted to remotely monitor my business ip camera. The camera was not on the very limited list of cameras and did not connect. When I called the tech department they said I needed to get the current version that has my camera listed. When I downloaded the new software it had my camera and I was able to locally access it but not remotely. When I called again they said I need to change my router and computer settings to make it work and I should call geek squad to do it. It is a useless and complicated program and far beyond my pretty good computer skills. Average Rating:![]() |

Panasonic Network Camera and Pet Cam (BLC1A)ReviewsI have a Mac network, with an Airport, so I was a little worried about setting up the camera. Turns out it was a 3 minute job. The instructions provided by Robert Hoare (earlier review) are mostly correct, except for one important detail: if the camera gets it's initial IP address from your router (via DHCP), it could get any available IP address. Robert said it would default to xxx.xxx.xxx.253. Mine was issued 192.168.0.91. So in my case, the URL for setup was as follows: [...] Just type that into your browser and you are up and running. But the trick is finding the correct IP address. On a different network, the camera will probably get a different IP address. With the Airport, you can go to the setup and get the list of connected devices -- I think most routers have a similar feature. Worst case, it would just take a few minutes to run through every possibility, 2-255. Once you connect to the web server that's built into the camera, and set the username/password, you can set a static IP address and whatever else you want to set up. It has a whole bunch of other features. No worries. Another important detail: I was setting up the BL-C210A, but I suspect they are all similar in this respect. Pretty dang good quality for $85.00. You can afford to buy multiple cameras later down the road at this price. Unfortunately, the DVR software that comes with the camera will not export a compressed MPEG video unless you purchase it for $350.00. All recordings will remain locally on your hard drive. Was able to set up the camera locally in no time at all. Turns out AT&T Uverse is a pain in the backside. I finally had to call into Panasonic support and they were great. Took about 15 minutes for them to walk me through a new setup. I had already spent 2 nights trying to configure the firewall on my own but they pointed out I had to change the setup in the camera as well. To make this work you need to go to setup tab choose static connection mode change port number to 5000 for mine IP Address 192.168.1.253 subnet mask 255.255.255.0 default gateway 192.168.1.254 DNS server 1 192.168.1.254 DNS server 2 4.2.2.1 You will then need to go to the firewall of your router and setup an egress rule for the device using port 5000. This worked for me and I can now access the camera from anywhere. I further setup up limited user access. For this you need to go to "administer" and choose "Do not permit access from guest users" Then you go to "general user" tab and create the user account that you want to allow to access the camera. I set mine up to only allow "guests" to access the camera M-F 8a-6p. That was pretty easy to figure out as well. Finally, if you want to buffer the images you can set that up on the "trigger" tab. I chose to just have it store the images in the camera at 1 per minute and get just over 4 hours that I can replay. I am playing with trying to get it to email tonight. If you have AT&T then I hope these settings work for you. If not (or if you have any other problems) I highly advise you call Panasonic support before you give up. They are great and did not take too much time. Update - 1-27-10 I struggled with the email settings for a while running multiple tests. Only after some time on the internet did I find an article detailing how to set up webcams to email. I found an excellent link[...] However, if you are using [...], Yahoo you are probably out of luck b/c the camera does not support SSL login. My ISP is ATT and that defaults over to [...] so I am out of luck on both my accounts. Will poke around to see if I can find another way. I have 2 of these cameras, and the installation of just one camera is fairly straightforward if moderately complex. Adding a second camera was more challenging, but this is just about as easy as it can possibly be. The best part so far is the technical support available via the 800-number at 800-211-7262. I have used the phone support 3 times and spoke with 3 different representatives. Each one was professional, patient, courteous, and very familiar with the product. If you're wondering whether you can set up this camera, you can do it. (and if you can't, the support representatives will get you the help you need.) Picture quality is better than i expected, and the video isn't as choppy as i thought it might be. Ability to view your pet via cell phone is this product's best feature, in my opinion. Highly recommend! The camera is a good camera for the money, and I own three of these, and a couple Axis cameras ( see Axis 0199024 206 Surveillance Cameras Bundle) which are way better, but three times the price. The Panasonic is good bang for the buck, especially if the lighting is decent. However, of the 3 cameras I own, two of the first ones I bought have already had their PQLV206 power supplies die. :-( Although to be fair: I've had power supply failures with the Axis cameras too; although Axis had great support and replaced them all with an upgraded version for free even after the cameras were out of warranty. Avaak Vue Personal Video NetworkReviewsI got this camera so I could see what my dog does when I'm not home and it was totally worth the price. Mostly, my dog doesn't do as much as I thought she would, but when the housesitter has dog friends over and I got to see them all running through the house while I was out of the country, it was priceless! I've learned that I can set the cameras up in different locations to watch other things that are going on in my house when I'm not there and that has been just as entertaining to me. It was so easy to set up, once I decided where the cameras should be placed the first time, and just as easy to use. I love that I can sign on to my account from anywhere, even from a for sale netbook at a Verizon Store in another city, and get connected to home in seconds. If you need a new techie toy because you have all the others, don't hesitate to purchase this one. You can even send the videos to other people or save them to see again. This is a lot of fun and worth the price! The product arrived open, it was obviously used. The serial # was already assigned so useless to register. The name on the invoice was also wrong as well as the amount. Everything was complitelly wrong!! Be careful you wont get what you bought!! I am waiting for my refund!! When the product works, it's fine. But that's when it works. When there's a failure, the helpful Vue customer service people have the answer to restart the system. That's fine, but we got it to be used hundreds of miles away. So that's not really a fix for us. And since it is so far away, we can't box up the system and return it. Currently it has been out for two weeks. If you plan to get a system that you'll be near the property to restart the system when it fails, you'll be fine. When it is working, I like it. But if you're too far away, you need to take a pass or have a backup plan to get it working when it goes out. I like to keep my reviews short and get to the point. This product is not worth the $220 I paid (on goldbox sale) and certainly not $300. Its very very tempermental with broadcasting the images through the web. Many times I have had my cameras unable to load on the webpage, and had to call my wife at home to have her hard reset the box (unplug). Also the image quality is very poor, especially in low light conditions. The camera are jumpy and not smooth through the internet either. How do I know this? I have several times had skype running with its webcam on, and will look at my Vue cams of the same area at same time....and there is a HUGE difference in quality. The skype webcam from a computer running the same internet connection is smooth and detailed, which the vue cams are like watching a convience store hold up footage. Whats the point if you can't get high speed video quality??? I saw other reviews mention the same issue before I bought this, but I am disappointed I did not listen. Listen to this review and save your money. I even waited 2 months now hoping the product would improve, and the company issued an update, but that did little to change any of the problems I mentioned. Do not waste your money just because, like I did, you think it may be cheaper than some other options. My wife gave me the Vue system for Christmas. Over the Thanksgiving weekend, we returned home from a camping trip and discovered our house was vandalized and several items stolen from the garage. Unfortunately this was not the first time we have returned home from a camping trip to find things missing. I had looked into installing a security system before but they were either too expensive or too difficult to install. The installation of the vue system was extremely simple. I plugged in the two wires (power and network), inserted the two batteries, turned on the cameras and in less than five mintues the system was up and running and I was able to view my cameras. This is by far the easiest installation of any computer/electronic device I have ever installed. The battery operated cameras mean no wires so I can place them anywhere in the house, even high up on the wall in the garage where I do not have a convenient power source. The size and color of the cameras allows them to blend in easily with the surrounding. I have had the system setup now for several weeks and we have gone on a couple of camping trips since the install. While on the road I was easily able to connect to my system and check on the house and garage. I was a little concerned about the battery life of the cameras after reading a few reviews, but I can say for me this has not been an issue. While away from the house I would check on the cameras several times a day for probably a minute at a time and the batteries are still going strong. This system has given me piece of mind while we are away, which allows for a more relaxing time. I will be buying more cameras for my system so I can monitor even more locations around the house Suggestions - A motion activated camera that could start recording and send an alert to my phone would be very welcome. I would like to place a camera or two outside so an outdoor camera might be good too. Thanks for a great product that meets my needs and was easy to install and operate. Average Rating:![]() |

Logitech WiLife Digital Video Security--Indoor Add-On CameraReviewsI love this system. I live in a large house. So far there are 4 cams. 3 are inside, one outside. You may have to unplug/plug you main USB thing at the computer a couple of times during initial installation of cameras or software install. But after that, it's worked flawlessly. I even have another power-line network going at the same time. I use these inside cameras suctioned cups to windows pointing outside. They do really well in my opinion and the software is great. Online viewing is cool too. I work downstairs and it's a long ways up to the front door. I have a camera on the second floor that point down the driveway. I get a pop-up when the mail truck goes by, a car drives into the driveway, etc. It's FANTASTIC that I don't have to come running or won't miss a doorbell. At night, I've caught bats flying around outside. However...... I would NOT recommend it for business use where you need to report exactly what a person's faace is to the police... or need to make out a license plate number. I'm planning on adding more outside cams as they get slightly better pictures, especially at night. It'll even detect the motion of birds or squirrels if you set it up that high. So, overall, I can't recommend it enough except that perhaps it's a little expensive but looking at what you get I think it's more than worth it. We already had the outdoor cameras set up, so this was easy to do. We use it inside of a barn on our llamas and it is wonderful! It's actually pretty good in bad lighting too. We use a light during nighttime, little bit more than a nightlight is good on them so they can sleep. I am an Electronics installer. This is perfect for the average guy/girl Took me about 30 min to install and set up 2 camera at my 2nd home on the lake I already had a WiLife camera, and the original was incredibly simple to set up. The new one is slightly different from the one I already had, however, and seems to have caused a conflict. When I first installed it, neither camera could be detected at all, and after several hours of trial and error (which included updating my software) I got the new one working. I still can't connect to my original camera. If you buy this camera, I suggest you buy all the cameras you plan to use at the same time, to make sure you don't run into problems adding new ones down the road. I like this system a lot for the fact that it works as described. I have it looking out my front window to track people coming to the front door. I only found a few problems: - It seems to activate to record clips even though the motion sensed is outside the area set up in the software. I excluded the road but it still records every car that drives by. - I had it set up to email me a snapshot when it sensed motion. It worked for a while but it stopped. I guess I have to sign up for the Platinum service? - You have to sign up for the service to zoom control the camera remotely and to be able to watch recorded videos remotely. - Lastly, the most important problem. The power adapter has a fan that is very audibly noisy. It's pretty annoying, about as noisy as my Playstation 3. Sometimes the fan pick up dirt and moans even more. Average Rating:![]() |
