HP DreamScreen 100 10.2-Inch Wireless Connected ScreenReviewsDo you want a very nice looking digital picture frame? Then why spend $100 plus and get JUST that? Why not get a bunch of other "netpliance" apps along with it. Many people can go into more detail about the limitations of the Dreamscreen, and I did have my moments of cursing on setup (Facebook!) and the limits of some of the apps, and the apparent lack of multitasking and some dumb menu item designs. Audio is ok but not great (we fixed it with small pc speakers you can attach). Video WMV and AVI not supported ?!?! stupid. Got it. BUT, if you want a WiFi-based countertop screen that beautifully shows pictures you've loaded, or pictures OFF OF ANOTHER PC (with the Dreamscreen located anywhere in your house, and with no cable attachments), videos you've loaded, music you've loaded or run OFF OF ANOTHER PC (get the theme?), a silly clock or calendar or the weather outside, or listen to Pandora stations, or selected FM radio stations. And you want it to look nice and bright. And you don't want keyboard laying there. And you want it small enough yet big enough, a countertop picture frame. And you don't demand an instant countertop browser. And you want frame front controls or a long distance remote control. And you don't demand touchscreen. And you want all of that for $200 or less. Then come on, this is COOL. Get it even if you have a netbook or an iPhone or and iPad. Or...watch for it to evolve next year. But we got one and are happy with it. My wife wanted a digital pic frame. Almost the same price - we got all of this. I am listening to Coldplay playing from this PC, but in the kitchen, while it's cycling through pics from Christmas. About to switch to Car Talk. Come on, it's pretty cool. Easy to use and set up. My only complaint is that it doesn't really multitask. If you're on Pandora, and want to check the weather, it will stop pandora. The only thing it will allow you to do simultaneously is a slideshow. Could be a lot better, does not have a battery I did not think about it but it would be so usefull. There are a lot of features on it that are not very friendly Alarm clock, it will only turn on to the same song every morning no random play Randomm play, is not random if you start it on a certain song, it will always play in the same order. Wish there was a way just to play all music instead of going through all your music to start. Video, I found a lot of my .avi and .mpeg would not play on it. if you have to change the volume from the screen you have to wait a bit for it to change off of that menu before you can do anything else otherwise you are always stuck in volume mode. It does have awesome quality of the picture and the sound is very very nice. You must connect it to your wifi router, you can not do a bridge to your laptop or network it must be to the router. This being said I think if I Were to have the option to buy again I would wait for an updated version. I use the HP Dreamscreen for my daily alarm clock, because of its extensive feature set (three timers, select musical wake up tunes for each, red numbers at night, etc.). I also like being able to have it off all day and it automatically coming on late at night, when I want a bedside alarm clock (like everything else, customizable). Overall the unit's user interface makes using the many features easy. The Internet radio support, especially for Pandora, is excellent. The unit sounds good for what it is, about what you'd get from any decent plastic tabletop radio. But plug in a good set of computer speakers and you've got a cheap and easy upgrade for the audio (I tossed them under the bedside tables). The Dreamscreen is also a full featured photo frame. Setting up the wireless networking was easy, with a well polished process. Almost any question can be answered by the full screen tutorials, located in the 2GB of onboard memory (you can free up about 300MB by deleting them). My wishlist is similar the other reviewers': Sleep timer for the audio A basic browser Ability to plug in any Internet Radio station (but HP does provide a massive selection from all over the world) I give it 4.25 stars out of 5 and would recommend it to anyone. HP had a neat idea here, but somewhere along the way from concept to completion it lost its way. It is too pricey for what it offers. I essence it is an expensive clock/calendar, internet radio player and 10" picture viewer, with a few other bells and whistles thrown in for good measure. The interface is time consuming and cumbersome to use and the speaker is not strong or of a very good quality. On the plus side the screen is nice and bright with a good viewing angle, and it displays photos and video nicely. And it does connect wirelessly to the internet. Let's break it down: 1. It easily connects to my home network, after I changed the security settings. 2. It is a good photo viewer though there are better dedicated ones. It can connect to your Snapfish library...if you have one. 3. Stream music from the internet or from your home PC. However, the interface for this is cumbersome and choosing internet stations is a pain. And then there are those underpowered speakers. 4. It works as an alarm clock and you can wake up to music. Okay I guess. 5. You can monitor your Facebook account and friends' status, but you can't update yours. 6. It has a calendar. Yippee. 7. Weather reports can be accessed from the web. Nice but not essential, just turn on the weather channel. This product practically begs for touch screen capability. If it had that, then I would say it is worth the price. But know, you are left to use either the remote or the few controls on the bottom and right edge of the screen. The menu interface is still slow to get through and overly complicated. I am not sure who HP was targeting with the Dreamscreen. Perhaps minimalists who want to ditch their clock, internet radio, calendar and standard photo frame in favor of this. For them it would be good. Perhaps. But for the rest of us, just use your computer or smart phone. It is quicker, easier, and you can do more. Kevin Nicholls hit the nail on the head with his review. My opinion is to wait -- easier to use and more functional devices are on the horizon or are already in your home. But if you want a digital picture frame that can do other things (though not well) and you don't mind the price, then this may just be for you. I've had mine for months and the only feature I still regularly use is the photo slideshow. Average Rating:![]() |

La Crosse Technology WS-9029U Wireless Weather Station with Digital TimeReviewsNice product. After two weeks it is working well. Wireless so far has worked as indicated. It does not record time and date of min/max recording which I wanted. This Lacrosse product is the perfect wireless temperature gauge for the person who needs to know what's happening outside. This is not the fanciest one of these. It does however work just fine. It's easy to setup and actually has two outdoor sensors in the same module. I recommended this product on my Koi Garden blog as a recommended Holiday Gift guide [...]. Later I wrote this review of the product on the same blogsite [...] and on my Yahoo List. This is a neat product. Every once in a while I come across a product that I just have to report back about. I have written about our 10 recommended gifts for the Koi Gardener. This holiday season I received a present off that list. It has allowed me the opportunity to install and try out the product in more detail. It is a product that really makes Koi Gardening a lot easier. I received a La Crosse Technology WS-9029U Wireless Weather Station with Digital Time. Essentially, it reports both the time and any temperatures of interest to a Koi Gardener; any temperature, both air and water. Plus it is expandable just by purchasing more remote temperature sensors. It is the perfect gift for the fanatical Koi Gardener with a penchant for technology. I have it set up to report on internal house temperature, external air temperature, and the temperature of the water in the pond, all from the convenience of my home. I could purchase an additional sensor to report on the water temperature of the filter assembly, but really, one water temperature reading for the pond is enough, even for me... Before you think that this is a technological solution looking for a problem, think about the cold winter days that you can avoid walking out to the pond and measuring the temperature. The argument becomes even stronger if you have snow and ice covering the pond. I now look forward to those days, when I can check the temperatures from the warmth of my house.... Plus it will serve as round one in my war with the Raccoons [...]. Installation is straightforward and easy. About the only problem is finding the right batteries for both the base station (AA batteries) and remote sensor (AAA batteries)... I will report back with any reliability problems in the future... 1/08/10 Update: I have read about and seen some upward bias of the temp probe. It appears to report the pond water temp a little higher than it should for the probe at the end of the wire. I will keep an eye on this and report back with more info. I wondered how come the lake temperature in Northern Wisconsin was still shown to be over 50 degf. When I took the sensor in for the winter, I found out. The remote sensor reads 11 degf high. I then went to see if Amazon would honor a return policy....nope, right to return expired earlier this summer. LaCrosse techs say merely to replace batteries. Already done that, and it still has 11 degf error. This is a great concept for a great price. Let me know if anybody gets one to operate with any degree of accuracy. I waited 6 months to write this review. I was concerned with battery life. So far there has been no problems with the original batteries. I would say for the money this is about as good a deal as there is. I bought it for the remote sensor and probe. I have the remote in my greenhouse at least 150 ft. from the base unit. It works great. I also like the humidity sensor on the base unit. I would have liked the base unit to be a little larger, but it's not bad. All in all, this is a very good indoor/outdoor thermometer. Travel Charger For Samsung u340, u410, u520, u540, u620ReviewsThe shipping was prompt and the product was exactly as it was advertised to be. Great seller! Not bad. Definitely cheaper than the original equipment if purchased at offical phone store (even with the tax and shipping costs). Good as a spare. I lost my phone charger but refused to pay the $30 that Verizon wanted to replace it. I got two chargers for $8 ($6 was for s&h) and they work just great. This charger works well, and it was still in the original packaging. It is worth every penny. Getting a new charger from the phone company would have cost more than $30.00. I am very happy. For the price that i paid for i think that it's ok, but the trouble is when you're pluging this to your cell phone you have to move and move the charger until gets to charge, it's a little tricky. Linksys by Cisco WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router (Compatible with Linux)ReviewsGreat router, easy setup, great performance. There was an issue: the new item shipped with a european adapter! I called customer service which routed me to someone who was a total idiot. Here is a summary of the transcript: Me: "The item shipped with the incorrect power adapter." Customer Service: "I see sir, are you able to pull up any internet sites on it?" Me: "Er... I cannot plug the item in because of the power adapter, which looks like a european adapter" Customer Service: "I see sir, are there any lights that are lit on the router" Me: "I CANNOT PLUG THE ROUTER IN" It was almost comical how he was not listening. Lucky for me AMAZON saved the day. They gave me a free return shipping label, and immediately shipped me a replacement (without waiting for my item to be returned), and sent it 2nd-day Air. AMAZING service. The replacement came with the correct power adapter. Thanks Amazon! Thanks for nothing, Linksys customer service. The vendor-supplied software wasn't as functional as I'd like; limited use of the available storage space, reduced configuration and so on. The ease of installing the dd-wrt software was ridiculously easy. The only problem relates to the design of the 'reset' button. The third-party software installation requires extended (90 seconds!) pressing-time on the reset button -- two or three times during the process. The button is difficult to hold for that length of time. But that's probably a good thing, because it means the settings don't easily get wiped by accident. The other problem I had was with one of the antenna mounts -- the post the antenna screws-down on, that exits the body of the device: One was loose, and not affixed well. It floated in a way that didn't make me comfortable. A drop or two of cyanoacrylate glue ('Super Glue') easily fixed it, but that's not something I think I would need to do right-out-of-the-box. Points off for that. One design suggestion: I'd like to see mounting holes on the bottom so one could easily wall-mount this device. As it is, the footprint takes up usable space on my desk. Good wireless router, though. I like it. I got this to replace the many of many Netgear and Dlink routers I have used in the past. I got it because there were so many good reviews on it and I know why. The wireless reception can reach the bottomless pit of my basement which my old recievers couldn't at all. It has amazing customization options with it. It also has a one button push if you need wireless right away. I would suggest using at least WPA encryption though which is easy to setup via the disk that comes with it. Overall I would give this 6/5 stars because it works perfect and has a great signal and great price. Tons of awesome reviews can't be wrong, you won't be dissapointed with this router. Don't even look elsewhere for any router alike because this one is in their price range and functions like a very expensive one. Solid like a rock. I did not update its firmware although there are free mod firmwares out there that can do many extra things. The only thing is that the router must be on a different sub net as my DSL modem. My DSL modem is on 192.168.1. The router came pre-configured on 192.168.1 as well. Some of my apps do not like this. After I changed the sub net to 192.168.3, everything worked great. Just a word to say I am pleased. Set up was a snap. Had my home network on in less than 15 minutes. Works fine. Average Rating:![]() |

Canon PIXMA MP560 Wireless Inkjet All-In-One Photo Printer (3747B002)ReviewsThe printer was easy to setup, the wifi is a very nice feature, less cords. The provided software installed easily. Jack It seams good. However I got mine opened it up got it all set up and then it would not put ink on the paper. Cannon phone support was really bad waited about an hour on hold before I could talk to someone. Ended up having to take it to a repair place here in town. Found out it had a bad print head. They told me that they have scene this before with this model. Wish I would have known. It is under warranty so it will not cost me to get it fixed however I ordered this printer a month ago and still have not got to use it. Should be early next week I can get it back. Otherwise it looks like a great printer. This is a good printer, fits my small space, and has some nice touches like the drawer opening automatically and closing nicely -- almost assisted, like a car door. Having said that I can't get duplex to work well with my Mac on a consistent basis. I think it's a setting, but the network scan feature works with the Mac and it's a good printer overall for the price. Can't judge on the ink usage yet. I'll just accept it. I'm not photo printing or anything. I looked a while and if you can get this on a deal or discount, get it. This is by far the best printer I have ever owned. Super easy to set up, easy to use, GREAT intuitive web printing. This is a great all around printer and the wi-fi feature simplifies life. The only gripes I have are: *the photo print quality is good, but not great. *the ink is outrageously priced (although most printer inks are) other than that, it's great. My whole house (7 computers) can all share the same printer, which makes life easier and definitely cheaper than having to maintain the ink for 7 different printers. I do look forward to the day that printer ink becomes more competitive price wise, there is just no way that the materials and labor add up to even a third of the cartridge cost. There was no hesitation in my mind when I bought this printer since I already own quite a few Canon products. As expected, it is fantastic. The setup is really easy and less time consuming. Even a non tech savvy guy can set it up along with wireless etc. I kind of like the functionality they have put into the small LCD screen on the printer. Quick and easy selections, and equally quick and good quality printouts/copies. Pretty good value for money. Just love the photographs it prints on photo-paper! Superb image processing techniques for getting the best out of your picture. And all this for a really cheap price. I would surely recommend this product to anyone who cares for the quality of prints and wants a wire free environment. Good going Canon. Average Rating:![]() |

Canon PIXMA MX860 Wireless All-In-One office PrinterReviewsHonestly I have never had a printer do so much for such a good price. One of the many things I love is the duplex printing without having to manually turn over the paper. I am saving a ton of paper! I love every feature and use them all. The product is great. I love the scan to remote PC feature. One problem that prevent it from being a 5 stars for me is duplex scanning. If your paper has a crease on it (tri fold page), then it tends to jam up while doing the reverse cycle for duplex scanning. This replaced an HP Officejet; we also have a HP Deskjet. Never could get Officejet documentation. Deskjet has "installed" itself 32 times in 12 months and, being online, HP is monitoring our printing. So far very happy with Canon; only question is how much ink will cost. great printer although it can be a little loud. You will need to have a router to use the wireless capability. Otherwise it is about all I expected it to be and then some. Prints Perfect Picturs. Scans great. Easy to fax. Cannon must make adjustments to its technonogy to insure modest cost for use of their printers. If they plan to stay in the market they will make changes soon. Average Rating:![]() |

Peak Safety View Back-Up Camera System with 7 Inch Color LCD MonitorReviewsThe first monitor stopped working after one day, contacted company and without hesitation, sent a new one. It seems to be working fine. After a lot of research and reading customer reviews I chose this one. It arrived ahead of estimated time and would of been a snap to install but I have a Cadillac CTS with a full liner in the trunk lid and a double walled lid to drill the half inch through and as per the instructions I was careful to make sure I avoided wiring but not careful enough. After repairing the damaged wiring (my fault) the rest was simple. The unit is very complete and works great! cts I've been using this camera for a couple weeks or more now. This system consist of three main parts. The LCD screen, The wireless transmitter, and the camera (with extra long cable built-in) Everything needed to set it up is included. The camera's resolution seems good as well as the resolution of the lcd screen. The LCD screen is handy since it has a mono speaker built in to be used with another video source. The screen is a little hard to see in bright sun / heavy glare but not too bad. The wire for the camera is a very good length and connects to the transmitter with a 3 pin connector (not RCA). The transmitter has a another 2 pin connector to attach to the power wire which has to be spliced into the reverse light. The LCD screen has two inputs, the first being the wireless transmission, and the second being the video + audio input via an included wire. The LCD screen automatically detects the transmitter when the transmitter begins transmitting. The LCD screen can automatically switch to the transmitter's backup camera and will automatically go into a power saver mode when no signals are detected ( GREAT features! ) The biggest problem I've seen is that this wireless transmitter actually interferes with other devices that handle wireless. The first couple of days of using it, my wireless network "coincidentally" started failing, it turns out it was the transmitter from this camera system. I suspect any 2.4GHz wireless device (including bluetooth?) will be interfered with when the transmitter is activated. The wireless transmitter was about 30 feet away and behind many walls but it still caused interference. The system is good, but imagine if everyone had wireless devices that randomly interfere with the 2.4 GHz, no wifi (and bluetooth?) would be reliable. As a side note, I was able to convert the transmitter to include a RCA input so that I could use the LCD screen (with an attached 12v battery pack that I put together and is not included) wirelessly with any video source (no wireless audio though), However, the interference becomes a bigger issue since you may want to use it frequently. Solves the problem of hooking to trailer- works like a charm. Not difficult to install on my 05 Tundra. Transmitter needs to be in trunk- I have a fiberglass cover on the bed, so this works fine, otherwise, wires would have to be cut and legenthened to install the transmitter in the cab. I installed thr backup camera on a 2001 Ford Ranger super cab for hitching a bass boat trailer on. I put the transmitter inside of the bed, behind the tail light housing in a protected area, and tie wrapped it on the bed brace. The install was staight forward with no surprises.I mounted the monitor on the center of the floor and permanatley wired the harness to the fuse panel. Am very satisfied with the performance, especially the cost. Have purchased items from Amazon previously and give them an A+ and UPS has delivered items before the scheduled arrival date. One bad factor, the monitor tries to light up on accasion. Talked to Ken at tech support. The receiver frequency is very close to security devices. Ken states that by pulling into a bank, the monitor get a picture. Would I buy again, yes, has a very good picture. Just have to turn it off when not in use. Average Rating:![]() |

Parrot MKi9200 Advanced Color Display Bluetooth Hands-Free Car KitReviewsthis thing works great in our 06 f250 and 08 mark lt pickups the only way to go when a man cant multi task, drive and talk on the phone at the same time. Ok. So, I got my MKi9200 today and had Best Buy install it for me and I have the DROID. Here is the low down: Calls: -Phone book syncs perfectly (no pictures unless you push them one at a time) -Phone reception in car = Amazing -Phone reception on other side = Great Music: -Bluetooth audio features are limited and doesn't sound prefect, but still pretty good -No album art (this is true of any Bluetooth connected phone including the IPhone) -Back and next track work fine -Pause button works, but resuming is buggy sometimes it work and mostly it doesn't Combine Features: -When a call comes in music pauses, but doesn't resume Note: All other goodies work as advertised. I already had an iPod touch and hooked that up the iPod connector in the glove box and get high quality audio, back and forward track, album art, and seamless music to phone call and back to music transitions. This is definitely the way to go. The best part is it is not my phone so I just leave it there hooked up and it is always ready to go. Hope this helps all you DROID fans! ~G I researched this product and most of the reviews were great. Once I found someone to install the system (warning, unless you are an audio tech, don't try to do the installation yourself), I was very pleased with how well the Parrot system performed. I have an Apple iPhone and wanted a system that would allow me to listen to my music and integrate with my car radio (Mazda3). The system is very intuitive, I love the hands free capability with the phone and the audio is excellent. Once you pair the system with your phone, you can use the hands free system without even plugging in your phone to the system (Best Bluetooth I've used). This is the best aftermarket Bluetooth system on the market. It is very much equal to or better than Ford's Synch system, but with Parrot you don't have to buy a Ford. I got 2 of these kits (One for me and an other one for my wife's car) and did a self install. (I got the install harness from safewireless). This harness is a HUGE time saver. Do not attempt a self-install w/o it. (Parrot recommends a professional install) Here's my rating on several topics. For me the most important issue was phone via bluetooth, followed by music via USB/SD card. 1. Phone bluetooth: Quality is a 9/10 (Safewireless provides a screen for the microphone for free which eliminates some whooshing sounds) 2. Aesthetics after install: 8/10 3. Music quality from SD card and USB card: 8/10 (I notice some audiophiles are not impressed) 4. Ease of use: 9/10 (I am impressed) 5. iPhone integration: Probably a 5/10 judging from the comments on the parrot website (No direct experience) 6. Customer support: 5/10 7. Price point: 6/10 (I think 150 bux is probably the "right" price) Installed my Parrot MKi9200 within minutes using a Bluetooth wiring harness from Amazon for a F-150 2007. Everything plugged up without any problems - I must say it was the easiest install for audio equipment I have done thus far! I have been using the unit for about a month now and love it! I only have two negative comments. After I installed the unit I had to update the firmware to work with my Blackberry 9330, no biggie here just a few extra minutes getting the unit updated. My other comment is a bit perplexing to me is that sometimes the unit resets itself while driving. I am still troubleshooting the problem but I am thinking it might be a bad wiring connection, software glitch, interference problems, etc? Other than those two items, the unit is well worth the money and the safety of driving hands free! Also, all functions work such as playing an ipod touch, SD card with songs, USB stick with songs, etc. Average Rating:![]() |

Parrot MKi9100 Advanced Bluetooth Hands-Free Car KitReviewsThis is so poorly made. The main plug that goes into the control box fits so loosely that the slightest bump makes it cut out. The audio quality is about as good as AM radio. This thing hums, whines, and pops from the speakers and I used the quick connect harness. Do not buy this unit!! Look for another alternative! I have had this unit installed in my 2001 Prius for four months. Although it works well enough, there are several problems that would keep me from recommending it whole-heartedly. Installation: The installation, with the pre-made wiring harness from QuickConnect was quick and painless. It took about an hour. I was able to put the little screen above my steering wheel without drilling and it all looks neat. Pairing the remote with the unit proved to be a little troublesome. There are no instructions for this in the manual, and the reference to it online takes some digging. Pairing the unit with my HTC myTouch phone was straightforward, following the instructions in the manual. Call Quality/Voice Dialing: Callers say that I sound very clear. And I hear them well, too. The voice dialing feature works well when it is in the mood. However, there is often (but not always) a period where the device will freeze if a call is initiated shortly after starting the car. During a period of up to, perhaps, five minutes from when the car is started, if I press the green button to make a call, the screen will indicate "Voice Recognition In Progress," but I will not hear the voice prompt "Who do you want to call?" for several minutes thereafter. Conveniently, while I am waiting for the prompt, the radio is muted, making it easier for me to clearly hear myself curse. No amount of pressing the red button will unfreeze the device and bring back Rush Limbaugh. I just have to wait until it's good and ready. Eventually the prompt will come, but by then I have traveled 5 miles in silence, arrived at my destination, and gotten out of the car to make the phone call that I initiated while leaving my driveway. However, once it does actually initiate, the voice dialing system works well-it very rarely misunderstands who I am asking for. Audio Quality/iPod functionality: The sound quality from the unit is good. No distortion, and loud enough to moderately rock out at highway speeds. The iPod controls are Spartan. For example, there is no access to genius playlists, no option for shuffling songs or albums, and the menu always resets to the top of the list, unlike the iPod which will bring one back to where one last was. This makes it difficult to move to a different album by the same artist, for example. One always starts at the top menu. I have found it easier to just use the Aux input with the 1/8" plug rather than the ipod connector. Even though it does not charge the ipod while driving, or pause it during calls like the 30-pin connector does, I prefer to have access to more ipod functions than the Parrot device will allow. Customer Service: After installing the unit I found that the iPod cable had a short near the connector which would cause all the sound to cut out if the ipod was moved (or a corner was turned, or a bump was hit) until I wiggled it back into alignment. When I unplugged the ipod cable from the blue box the bluetooth function continued working and my radio worked, so I was not totally inconvenienced during what turned out to be a long wait. I used the customer support website to try to get a replacement cable. I also asked for a replacement blue box to try to remedy the problem with freezing while initiating a call after starting the car. It took a month and a half to get a meaningful response from customer support and two months to actually receive a replacement cable and replacement blue box. Although I did eventually receive replacement parts, I would describe the customer support process as unsatisfactory. The new cable solved the problem with the ipod, but the replacement blue box behaves identically to the first one. Now, I just know not to try to call anyone right after I start the car. I give the device time to "warm up." I installed this in our Honda Fit using an aftermarket harness to make it (almost) "plug and play." I decided to purchase this rather than the Bluetooth add-on for the (Pioneer) stereo already installed, as it (Pioneer's Bluetooth unit) received pretty mediocre reviews, cost more, and of course wouldn't work if I eventually decide to put in a different brand stereo someday. If you're never installed a car radio before, this probably isn't the first thing you should install yourself -- I'd recommend having it professionally installed, since there are a good-sized handful of cables coming out of this thing that need to get routed properly, and you will most likely have to do some minor drilling and/or cutting to count the display and microphone if you want a really "clean" installation. As a yardstick, I probably spent 4 hours total on the installation. Anyway, then, it does work as designed. The interface is fast and responsive, and I like the quality of the display. The software is pretty well thought out -- perhaps A++-super-nerd programmers don't work at Parrot, but certainly above-average ones do. Pairing works quite nicely, automatically connecting to my phone when I get in the car & turn on the ignition and disconnecting shortly after the ignition goes off. When you're on a call, it asserts the "mute" line to the car's stereo which also pauses CD/USB/iPod playback, which is nice. I haven't had any of the communication failures/lock-ups that another reviewer here did. Some minor gripes are as follows: -- While the noise reduction is effective up to ~45MPH (most callers wouldn't be able to guess you're calling from a car), it breaks down at highway speeds: Callers will still find you intelligible, but the occasional piece of a word is cut off and there is noticeable distortion. I attribute this so some degree to the rather noisy interior that is the Honda Fit (and most other inexpensive Hondas, for that matter) -- at some level apparently the Parrot just can't reliably separate your voice from the as loud or louder cabin noise. Those with quieter cabins may not ever experience this problem. (I have tried turning "lateral noise detection" off and it does make things worse.) -- When hanging up calls, I often have to press the "hang up" button a couple of times. I suspect this is likely to be just as much the fault of the Parrot as my phone (a Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2), but it is a bit annoying. -- The manual is rather spartan. While it contains information on all the "basics," it does leave out explanations for some menu functions, which you're hence left to guess at. While most have names that make it easy to figure them out, there are a few where it's not quite clear exactly what the option does. I think that this is a little on the spendy side for what you're getting, but overall I'm happy with it and feel that I've received a reasonable (if not spectacular) value for the money. I, like you, read all these raving reviews and decided to purchase this system for a hands free solution in my car. Trust me when i tell you to look elsewhere for a bluetooth solution. Not only did it take me weeks to find a proper adapter that would work for my volvo to properly install, the system only actually works about 10% of the time. The "remote" constantly has to be re-programmed to the system, which can only be done during the initial 5 seconds of boot up, yes, this means you have to shut off your car in middle of freeway to enable remote use again to make calls. If the remote is actually working properly, then the second most annoying issue is about every other or third call, the system just stops working completely. It will answer or dial out, but you cant hear the other party and they cannot hear you. This only causes you to have to take the phone off of bluetooth and hold it up to your ear, completely eliminating the point of the system. Even once you transfer the phone back to the bluetooth when this happens, it never works until you make a new call. I contacted Parrot regarding both issues and they explained both were known issues they were working on, big help there. FYI- i was using an iPhone 3GSs, Blackberry 8530 and 9630 (have paired three phones with the system, dont get me started on what a pain that is.) i had a jvc head unit that had built in blue tooth. i actually had two of them and they were very glitchy. they would not always connect and the mike was very poor. the parrot is awesome. people tell me they hear me really well. all the features come together really well. i hook up the analog line to my xm receiver and i also hook up my ipod. with the ipod i am disappointed though because i can't seem to turn on shuffle. i use the phone book a lot and it seems to be a little safer driving down the road. the voice commands are typical and after two tries i gave up and don't plan to use them. i purchased a cable to tie this directly into my factor radio. the remote is great with one glitch. it gets in the way a little bit and the buttons get bumped by mistake. by far the best bluetooth device i have ever used. Eva-dry Renewable EDV-300/E-333 Wireless Mini DehumidiferReviewsThe price for this item is just right! I have a friend who has the "Remington" dehumidifier and they are identical in almost every way, the only difference is the sticker with the name; for the price of one "Remington" I got two Eva-dry!!! Easy to use, reliable performance! Thank you! Bought this product after reading reviews and checking prices- I use this in a gun safe and have had no problems, working well after several months and I'm very pleased with it. I am not sure mine is working, I have had it in a damp area for over a week now and the crystals have not changed color at all. I was so excited about this thing, what a bummer... I was very pleased with this product. it works great for small areas, I put mine in a gun safe and about every two weeks it needs recharged. for the money I would recomend this to anybody. I am using this in a small fireproof safe that was getting very damp and it has done a great job of keeping the moisture level down and it no longer smells musty. Average Rating:![]() |

Lithium Coin Battery - CR1616ReviewsGreat battery. Good price, delivered quick. Cheaper than buying local, if you can even find the right size. I was very hesitant to purchase these batteries for only 2 cents, but I figured if they each work for two weeks that would be enough. But here I am a month later and both the ones that I used in my car remotes are working just fine! Great buy when in the store one battery would have been more than the shipping costs for these 5! I received 2ea 5paks of CR1616 batteries from Eforcity. I only needed 2 single batteries. However, neither Amazon's nor Eforcity's listing (at the time) indicated a 5pak would be sent. Therefore, I wasted money on batteries I'll probably never use. They are working fine, however, in two car key remotes. I received this ites earlier than the due time and the quality was as good as expected. These batteries function well. It's too early to tell how long they will last but the price and shipping were fine. Compared to local prices for coin batteries, this was a bargain. Average Rating:![]() |

Although the word surveillance in French literally means "watching over", the term is often used for all forms of observation or monitoring, not just visual observation. Nevertheless, the all-seeing "eye in the sky" is still a general icon of surveillance. Surveillance in many modern cities and buildings often uses closed-circuit television cameras. Although surveillance can be a useful tool for law enforcement and security companies, many people have concerns about the loss of privacy.
The word surveillance is commonly used to describe observation from a distance by means of electronic equipment or other technological means.
